Our Classes

SA Firearms Instruction & Training offers private, practical firearms training for beginners, LTC students, couples, and shooters who want better accuracy, stronger fundamentals, and more confidence on the range.

All fees must be paid in cash unless otherwise noted. If you have questions or would like to schedule a class, please call 210-995-7163.

LTC – 104 Qualification

Cost: $62.00 cash

Please do not forget your paperwork when you come to class. This is a pass-or-fail class. This is not an instructional session. You will demonstrate that you have the ability and skill set to shoot accurately within the state’s performance standards for an LTC qualification.

LTC Combo Class

Cost: $180.00 cash

Length: 2 hours

Please do not forget your LTC-104. All firearms, ammunition, range fees, and targets are included in the price. This class combines beginner one-on-one instruction with your LTC qualification.

We will teach you gun safety and how to run your gun efficiently and accurately. It is a detailed class, and the results are guaranteed.

Guarantee: "I guarantee that you will pass, or you won't pay."

This is a one- or two-person class. No groups.

Red Dot Pistol Class

Cost: $150.00 per shooter

Length: 2 hours

This class is for students new to the optic platform. A firearm and a red dot are included in class.

Students should bring their handgun with mounted and zeroed optic, magazines, and 50 rounds of ammunition. If you need help zeroing your handgun, that can be provided for an additional charge. Please mention it before class.

Do not forget your eye and ear protection.

AR-15 Pattern Rifle Class

Cost: $130.00 cash

Length: 2 hours

This class is designed for first-time shooters and owners of the AR-15 pattern rifle. Range fees and targets are included in this course.

Please bring 100 rounds of brass-cased 55 grain FMJ ammunition, your cleaning kit, and your rod.

You will learn zeroing with iron sights or optics, component function, reassembly, cleaning, maintenance, operation, malfunction clearing, ammunition types, and available optics and accessories for the AR-15 platform.

One-on-One / Couples Class

Cost: $130 per person, including range fee

Rental Option: Add $50 per person for a centerfire handgun with ammunition

Length: Approximately 2 hours for one person, 3 hours for couples

I give classes six days a week and am closed on Wednesday. Monday, Thursday, and Friday hours are 12 noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Morning classes are better because of the hot weather, but afternoon classes may also be available depending on conditions.

I provide a S.I.R.T. pistol as a stepping stone to shooting an actual firearm. A firearm and ammunition can also be supplied to each student as part of this class.

Please do not forget your firearm. You will be shooting it. Please bring 50 rounds of ammunition for your handgun.

I will cover everything from gun safety to firearm manipulation and how to shoot accurately. You will be well-versed in how to use your firearm after the class.

What to Bring

• Dress for the weather
• Do not wear low-cut tops
• Wear shoes with non-slip soles
• Bring prescription glasses if needed
• Bring shooting glasses and ear protection
• Bring your firearm and ammunition if required for your class
• You may bring refreshments; water is also sold at the range

The range has a porta-potty, so please plan accordingly.
